#fans not working rx 570 nitro +

can we have some more information like; did the fans just stop working after you have had this gpu for a while or did you just buy it? did you try turning up the fan speed in bios? did you try turning the fans on in amd adrenaline? is the switch on the top left of the gpu in silent mode? did you have a nvidia gpu in the system before this rx570?
Also all of your PC specs including what CPU, motherboard, and power supply you have
okay, so can you list or try the things we just stated?
old gpu with crappy fans. probably just need to buy replacements
i bought it
it was working yesterday very fine
how do you know it was working "fine" though?
bc it was working all the time ?
things crap out. sometimes you can catch it as it's doing it and fix it other times it just stops working
and the temp was 45
are you sure the gpu wasnt already thermal throttling from low fan speed?
look at #1284548359020871731 message
i need an answers, if you dont know where to find fan speed in adrenaline or bios i can help you
i just dont know alot tbh on bois things i just downloaded msi after burner and tried to speed the fans and didint worked also
this is my first gpu
i dont have an old one
the #1 st thing I would do i shut down the system the flick then switch on the top left of the gpu
it may be in silent mode
i dont get it
how?
yes
i pushed it to right
shut the pc down
previeos
ok?
but why would you flip the switch if the fans were already working before?
unless they were inside the pc messing with stuff, i dont se how this would help
you need to shut it down and then flip the switch
more likely, the fans were already lower rpm and getting ready to die
to right side?
seeing if something went wrong with bios
yes
its not
the fans could just have died
the card wouldnt be working if something went wrong with the bios
he is right
ok give me min to do it
rx 570 is really old, like 8 years old and if it's been used continuously for years, the fans just wear out
your card may be 7 years old
they're cheap fans and they dont last forever
Nitro + came in 19
next lets try using amd adrenaline to see if we can change the fan speed through that. you said you tried using msi afterburner right?
where did you get that card from
My friend
5 years is still a long time for continuous usage though
i've had to replace some gpu fans earlier than 4 years before
do you know if he used it for crypto mining?
no he isnt
i did what you said
but nothing has changed
you need a load on the gpu for the fans to be moving
although zero rpm is also disabled so...
push those alll the way up
if the fans dont spin at this point I say they are dead
yep they should be spinning no matter what
yeah you need new fans
usually 1 fan should be running
nothing
they're tied together, so that may mean the first fan in the daisychain line has a problem and preventing the second one from running

unless it's not daisychained, and if it's not, that means it has another problem
found them here
16$
they are the pin to pad type not wired
oh shi
so it shouldnt be hard to replace
ok then the connector for the fans may have a fault and replacing fans wont fix it
may just need to clean up the contacts with some rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner
oh maybe try taking out the fans and putting each one in on either side
guys im not that pro
im rookie
to test if one of the fans has a bad circuit
can we go step by step if can

@keen flickerthat vid i posted should be all you need to replace and or clean the fans and the contacts
one screw and a paper towel with some alcohol will do it
ok let me try and tell you guys
but there is a point i just plugend 6+2 on the gpu and the gpu need 8+6
is that maybe?
it is best to have an 8+6 which is why saikmat asked for the rest of your system specs
that still isnt the likely reason behind the fans not spinning
if you clean the fans and contacts and they still dont work then that would be what to try
i just read the 6 is just extra power
my psu dont have that
yes
you have the same card?
if the gpu was already working, it means you have the correct pcie cables
what was the spec of the power supply?
550 wat
i think almost anything 450-500watt will have at minimum a single 6+2pin and better models 550watt or higher will have minimum 2x 6+2
gigabyte 550 wat
i just dont have a new fans
take them out anyways
look at the pins, take some isoprpyl alcohol on a towel, cotton swab and clean them off
i think that make sense
there could be a bad connection because of dirt and dust
only remove the fans and clean and replace yes?
nothing deeper
yes
ok let me try
just take them out to clean them and then see if they work
if they dont work, then buy replacements
you unscrewed the gpu at its mounting bracket right?
use a slot screwdriver to push it down
Yes
flat head screwdriver other name
No screws
How?
if it's hard to do you gently use a screw driver or something else maybe a ruler
Ok let me try
some plastic or wood stick
it just pops on
did any other plastic pieces come off it?
if not, then it's fine and can be put back on
just put the gpuc back in
both of my pcs dont have it lol
just make sure its evenly in the slot
oh i see you broke it because you didnt pay attention to the tab where the screw driver would go
you are only suppose to push it down to release the gpu
nvm its working now
i puted 2 screws
i hope it goes well
you dont need the lock for the gpu to function, but breaking it can cause damage to the board when forcing it and you slip off it when pushing it down
its done after some month i will get new one
for this im not mad about it
the motherboard im saying
yes
i know
is there any solution left?
..
@primal drum@river bison
anything left can i do?
if the fans dont work, buy new fans
or 6 pin
why are we still on the 6pin
if the card was working before just plug the same cables in
i dont think its from fans to
the 6 pin wont fix it
my xfx model is on a 8pin only
never had a fan die
best thing to do is get new fans
if the new fans dont work then the circuit for the fans is messed up
thats just a new gpu
i will just give up
thats not the spirit
id risk the 20 bucks on new fans
that is by far the most likely fix
they didnt even say if the fans are not working
im assuming they're not since they are giving up but...
can you return the gpu?
ig no icant
what was the xfx card you had before? am i getting that right? you had an xfx before this card?
what is xfx?
.
never mind
we ahve some miscommunications here so forget that
i was reading what was being saidf wrong
oh ok
any left to do?
if the fans dont work and the gpu does work, then you buy new fans
and if it dont work?
there isnt much more you can do other than that
the gpu was working
the only thing you did was cleaned the fans and hopefully the metal contacts for power
i di
did
then you buy new fans. if those new fans dont fix the problem, there is a problem elsewhere
