Installing a new M.2 drive for my buddy and I’m trying to figure out the best way to transfer all the files from one drive to another. He currently has a 500GB M.2 and a 1TB HHD both of which have important files. My main concern is that since his MOBO only has one M.2 slot so how am I supposed to transfer the data from one to another because I can’t put both drives in there?

I use this a lot and if it's Samsung drive they have a migration software that works beautifully for this or there's a few other cloning apps out there for the off brand drives macrium reflect is my second choice if it's not Samsung but Samsung is best and easiest to use

Thanks man!! I’m transferring to a Samsung, does the software work just as well if the other drive isn’t?

Samsung migration software only works with Samsung drives so of your transferring to a new Samsung drive it's great it won't work with any other brand u haveta use another cloning software like macrium reflect
It will read any drive tho
It's like a 1 way street they only go-to Samsung drives not to any other 1
But it will read from any drive
