do you have an integrated gpu on your cpu
Nah
well thats all i got
Thank you for your time
Lane?
slot.. use a different slot.
Oh gotcha
I'm not sure the other lane is compatible im rocking a b550-f mb
if it has more than 1 it will work just not at full speed. you jsut want to see if the slot is the problem or the cards.
considering you know one works it may be the lane.
slot whatever..
Oh so get a new mb awesome😭
I mean that's like really drastic solutions but sure.
Lane wasn't it unfortunatly
did you plug their power cables all the way in/shvoe it in the slot all the way?
Ye
and then put the display cable for the monitor too it?
so when you intalled the new card, you saw a white light under the VGA led on your mobo? what are your system specs and did you try to reset the c-mos once you changed cards...and what card did you have previously installed?
I had extention cables and removed them still the same thing
I had the 7900xt installed since early jan of this year
I'd try to reset cmos like meezy suggested and try again
should be a button for it on the strix..
Do i unplug everything first?
yes unplug it from the wall and hosl the power button for like 5 seconds then hit the cmos button on the motherboard for 5 seconds.
typing hard..
b550-f doesn't have a cmos button...
wow really?
that's a letdown.. so you would have to jump the pins for it and I can't pull up a diagram for that.
nope.... @wooden prairie just pull the battery out of the mobo, wait a few seconds, pop it back in
Didn't work
When ever i power the system on i hear a click sound from my psu a few seconds into the boot
If the means anything
sounds like opp is tripping.
doesn't really.. mean anything why warranties exist.
Imma be so upset cause this is a msi a1000g
again why warranties exist.
I got another psu i can test brb
Not the power supply
I find it hard to believe you have 2 random dead cards but possible.
This is annoying
Thats what i'm saying
1 ain't even a year old
I'm just gonna keep swapping shit
could try another psu and see if that works.
if you have a random one laying around.
Just did that a half a 15 mins ago
Goood fucking god
It was the fucking cpu
How the fuck bro
Moral of the story: If nothing makes sense while troubleshooting. It's your cpu
did you try to reseat.
What's that?
Also i put the msi power supply back. The white light is still there but i got video now
Oh you mean put the 5800x back?
Im about too juat wanted to test psu
reseat the cpu in the socket lol.
Everythings cool now
good.
Well you being there and helping shift through the option led me to the problem
Ya didn't find the issue it self but narrowed down the list for me
Good to hear enjoy your pc.
Ty
Sorry to pin but the situation has gotten worse
My r 5 3600 nor my r7 5800x work on the system anymore
No matter how many times i reseat them
A month ago I had the problem where I didnt get the pc to post or boot, I had the same motherboard and cpus ( R5 3600 & R7 5800x). I did try 2 cpus, 2 gpus, 2 rams, 2 psu, and it was the dam motherboard
