its that mac and windows is formatted differently
so values mean different thing

i think it best to to disassemble the entire thing
if you have no intent to reuse it that is
there would not be any additional flash storage on the hard drive, its only mechanical disks that are on drives
there are hybrid drives out there but this isnt one of them
idk why someone would operate an OS on emmc flash
there would be something sticking out if there was an SD card installed
it would be "invisible" but you should be able to feel if something is occupying the space
no need to use a paperclip
did you not buy it directly from apple or an apple authorized retailer
it should work fine
if it boots then that means theres another media device connected to it
whether thats an sd card or they slipped a 2.5in drive somewhere else
