Do y'all think Kai is a nickname guy? I know the only thing he canonically ever does with nicknames (at least to my memory) is referring to Juliette as "Jules" in exactly one line, but something about it just feels right whenever I'm writing him.

there's only a handful of teammate quotes but I like to think it's common for him to use nicknames - though I can see his tone dictating if its a sign of endearment or mockery, since he is usually quite intentional with that (Robbie's amazing delivery as always)

mhm the delivery is really good. I forgot about the X quote, good catch! It started when I was writing a convo with Kai and I was like "would he even remember this character's name?"

I ultimately settled on him coming up with an on the spot nickname and running with it as part of literally not being able to (and frankly not being bothered to try) remembering the person's actual name. I wrote it that way to try and sell Kai's lack of interest in the ongoing conversation. He's a busy guy, and doesn't normally have time to spare for people outside of his inner circle when they aren't there for a quick photo and an autograph.

Seemed fitting enough, but doesn't really work as a one-off thing imo. Figured I'd consult the Kai enjoyers (the council of Kai?) to see if it was worth including.

I've done writing for a number of characters around Kai, and how they interact with him, but taking the step of just writing Kai and how Kai speaks with people he's not inherently close to has been more challenging than I was expecting it to be.

A fun challenge though! He's a great character to work with.
