i just said it's never really been balanced due to the existence of these more dominant characters who just do things others do easier. For example, you have an X and Kai forward with Dubu Goalie, with the enemies having all of Demon Drive (which is quite meta tbh), for this i'd say logically you'd need to have Chronoboost and maybe some other awakening like Rapid Fire or Creation thing at the start
the enemies will have a much easier time to snowball and get their first picks in drafts since their base characters are better, with the only way to really mitigate this being if the opponents have a skill issue. And since neither X or Kai can reliably kill opponents without proper awakenings, they'll need way more effort to get through other than just "oops, you didn't evade fast enough, you're dead" that happens with Vyce and Octavia
since you need a way to actually survive to get to the good drafts and good awakenings since they'll leave no crumbs, you have to pick things that help you survive better, which forces you into building your character suboptimally. and since their characters (other than Octavia) don't need many specific awakenings (like how X kinda needs quick strike and speed boosts due to no era or mako) they can also counter pick and deny you your own BIS, meaning you still have to build suboptimally which... isn't really that good
you build for the same goals, but one will be able to do it much better cause they can deny them from you due to the base character being better at the start of the game with fewer awakenings
