Definitely a possibility. Their relationship isn't really talked about in game beyond Kai protecting her from bullies while taking advantage of her magic on the Corestrike field as kids, and Era feeling indebted to him for that to the point that she's acquired a crush, and wants to confess in hopes of reciprocation.

Whether Kai reciprocates or not is anyone's guess. My interpretation of the early dynamic is that him and Era being a couple isn't something he'd be intrinsically opposed to, but is quite literally something that never occurred to him. I'd cite Kai never making any sort of statement on his relationship status with Era as the catalyst for that, and aside from maybe Juliette there isn't really any other character he interacts with positively in general aside from Era.

That and Kai is a character with a ton of baggage and a lot that he stresses over in general with his father's expectations, his problem teammate (X), Estelle getting back into the league, etc. Era is essentially the one constant in his situation that he can always rely on. So aside from concern with how she's handling the situation they're mutually a part of, he probably doesn't think about her that much. Not because he doesn't care about her, but because he trusts her, and knows her to be the one thing he doesn't have to worry about.

Of course, once a relationship between them actually gets going, this shifts hard in the opposite direction, because then you start contending with Kai's competitive nature and somewhat perfectionist attitude. He's not just going to be Era's boyfriend, he's going to be the best boyfriend Era could ever have. Thus character development ensues.

I think Kai would be perfectly willing to take on a relationship, especially if it's what his best friend (the person he probably trusts most of anyone in his life right now on top of that) wants to do. He doesn't get much affirmation from his father, but Era isn't his father, and neither is he.

Someone asked about why Kazan was working for Rasmus which lead to some explaining of the lore synopsis for Kazan, and this tangent.

Now the real question is if Rasmus actually cares about Kazan's sister and her state.
What got Nao to start working to undermine Rasmus is her father had a similar illness, and came back from treatment a shell of the already weak man that he was.
So you can either interpret these lines to say that Rasmus is using Kazan's sister as a bargaining chip for his loyalty and trying to run that for as long as he can (likely the intention of the writers)
OR you can theorycraft, and try to give the character some level of nuance in that: Since Rasmus struck a direct bargain with Kazan, Rasmus could have a heavy moral dedication to staying true to his word, and won't treat Kazan's sister until he's certain said treatment would be successful.
