unfortunately i don't have video of any of the interactions, but i just had a ranked match on night market playing Kai where twice the enemy Zentaro died for seemingly no reason. first i landed a giga blast while Zen was full health standing in the speed gate, at which point he immediately vaporized into the blast KO animation. in the second i landed hits of barrage on him while he was standing around roughly the enemy goalbox line, where after a couple of hits he again died with the blast KO animation in the middle of the goalbox. in neither instance was there any visible knockback, i was experiencing no other connection or rubberbanding issues during the match, and @raven spire (the affected player) corroborated, these interactions looked the same on his client, dying mid screen

Can confirm I died in the middle of Night Market map with the blast KO effect seemingly cutoff at one end. Very weird. Unfortunately I was not recording either

i checked both of these and these interactions did not look similar
zentaro was not casting ult and there were clear enemy attacks that connected with him, i'm not sure if this is even a character specific interaction on either side
What's the chance of it being a lag? Like Zen going for his teleport, you hit at the middle but it registered as if Zen is at the edge of the map. It happened to my teammate yesterday, I think the map was Ahten. *Can't confirm if he's actually dashing, since it was a rando
lag was definitely my first suspicion and i can't entirely discount it from my end, but if SolSumi claims the match was otherwise behaving normally and the deaths looked just as suspect in his client i'm hesistant to write it off as such
i've never known lag in the game to cause such extreme rubberbanding for the client side players' characters

I don't think it's a bug, It happens when zentaro gets hit by an enemy attack and he is in the startup of his dash that will bring him close to the edge. It seems that when a dash is input, the game considers the end point of the dash the new location instantly - before the visual animation of the dash is completed.
This would also explain why juno can seemingly hit the core in mid air while she's dashing.

Yes! This is it. Definitely not lag I have pretty good internet. This is most likely what happened as I do like to dash near center to cross Night Markets barrier. I would still classify it as a bug with Zen's startup frames on his teleport it's weird to already consider him at the end of the teleport when hit
I've seen other top down view games calculate movement like this, it's not that uncommon. I'd love if it was changed though, would make juno a lot easier to play against.
Yeah. It was just surprising to seemingly die center stage at full health. It happened multiple times in that one game too. Now I know what to look out for and be careful about it but I'd still prefer if that was changed

either it's strictly a visual bug bc the KO animation is playing in the wrong location or zentaro location is being updated too quickly
