After the recent big update, and like the other updates/adjustments, rangers aren't getting the love.

DEX is ranger's main stat which gives high crit rate and block rate. Having the block penetration bonus removed from the Critical Shot leaves critical buff alone. There's just too much crit rate items ingame and acrobats aren't really getting the benefit with these extra crit chances.

The recent balancing for ranger was entirely for PVP purposes and PVE doesn't really benefit from block penetration but leaving the Critical Shot with just crit chance buff makes it worthless.

SUGGESTION:
Change ranger's Critical Shot buff, add PVE focused effects like:
-adds a chance to reduce enemies accuracy
-decrease MP consumption of skills
-creates a "magical" arrow, so that rangers does not have to consume arrows (what's the point of having stacks of arrow in your inventory bag for which gets consumed quickly)
-or just remov...nevermind smekw

They could change it to be somewhat similar to an item in League of Legends. 2 Attacks on the same target grants a stack and on the 3rd stack it deals more damage

Maybe make it +20% critrate and +20% critdmg
So it has a purpose early ranger gets to have a nice dmg boost and for PvP I don’t know how to balance it, but for pve rangers atleast it has a usage

PvE Damage sounds like a good solution to me!! This way, PvP is not influenced and the PvE Peeps get some well deserved love pepe_love

Change to passive buff, enchanted arrow, dealing additional dmg per hit. something like 10% of current dmg x 10 int

only reason I'd put int over dex is cause dex is strong.

+1 For PvE dmg. 5-10% seems fine to get a little closer to other classes. Still wont be nowhere near them with similar gear. But that is the price we pay for range.

I bet a Blade can get very close under the right circumstances without having to stand still for 3 seconds to charge an attack

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to see, as there is another damage number blocking on top, but it is clearly visible that it is a 7 digit number and you can see what numbers they are from their form. During the fade-out it is also possible to see the third number is a 9 and the last a 3, as they look...

Critical Shot - definitive need to be changed, +10% PvE seems fine. Also consider replace arrows into NEW PERMA ITEM for example quiver with some useful stats / effects. Smilar stuff schould be done to BP/RM posters.

@narrow wolf Not more overkill than 10-15% DCT on fash 😄 Hightly depends on bonuses: for example explosive quiver with make you auto attacks shot arrows that deal % DMG as AoE, or piercing arrow quiver with make your arrows penetrate 5-10% targets armor. That's just examples.

@foggy smelt No, Block Pen wasn't useless for PvE - monsters/bosses has block also. It was like -7% total DPS.

10% is that much either, alone the clear speed in envy is superb to be true, if other classes simply make double the % in dungeon

I dont think the adding of pve dmg to critical shot was meant to combat the loss of dps because of losing block pen. More rather just give something instead and going for pve% to not buff us in pvp.

And as far as I know, block pen works the way Don said. It reduces the block rate of the opponent by your block pen%. 15% block against 10% pen is 13,5% block left.

Infinite arrow will work out just fine so we can make use of these additional inventory slots instead of putting stacks and stacks of arrow that depletes like a 100 fold faster compared to posters (come on Gala, let rangers enjoy the inventory slots)

Just like what I said above, it really seems like critical shot was not designed for any PVE at all. So adding things such as "non depleting arrow" effect will work out just fine. Remember that acrobat's edge over all other job is crit rate and it really seems like nowadays, crit rate can now easily be obtained. Jewels, accessory's set effect and let's not forget angel pet with a really good grace skill resulting to huge DPS gap between these classes.
