Summary: when using jester blast and dark illusion the AOE damage from jester blast will knock the jester out of dark illusion

not really no its only when the blast of jester blast hits another person other than original target does it force you out of DI, otherwise it works as intended according to patch notes. For example -> use jester blast -> dark illusion -> jester blast explodes after 4 seconds but there is another player next to original target and is hit by jester blast aoe -> forced out of dark illusion.
