Currently Pain Dealer is a bit too slow in application and a bit unclear.

Provided video showcases what it could be made into. The Animation is changed to become a 20-frame attack (which translates to about 1.5 autos of a 100% ATK Speed Knight).

The VFX is changed to clearly showcase that "a target has been marked" with a ring burst of particles and a red, lingering ring under the target, so team mates during PvP can realize who has lower DEF.

It is suggested to give the Skill a 4 Sec cooldown, so that Knights can actually bring utility in PvP & make the skill useful for PvE, as you cna now reliably decrease enemy DEF without sacrificing your DPS to a really long animation.

(The Knight has 500 STR in that video - to explain the damage...)

I’m ok with the idea but there’s already so much crap on the ground, can we suggest an indicator over the head instead?

The Particle might seem like too much, cause right now all Flyff VFX are just "Light Mode ON" in how they are. My solution would probably be to just rework ALL of the VFX on the skills, so they are more clear and less "White Void".

Then - after that - check Siege and analyze if the current Particle is not enough.
Although I might put some effect above the target, since "too many things on the ground" is a concern.

As for "minor debuff" - the idea is that any effect that other teammates could capitalize on, should be quite visible, even if it is minor. Cause if you had two targets to choose, one of them has a bit less DEF due to a debuff, you may consider that DEF Debuff. Same goes for skills like Satanology, Baraqijal Esna, Sneaker, etc.

I would tone down the VFX on skills like Spirit Bomb - cause that is a "general attack" from a Psy, but for some reason it covers the entire character in a white void. I would just give it a COOL but not so disruptive VFX, cause I am not sure lighting up someone white to suggest you just absolutely destroyed their health bar is important info for your Teammates. Especially when the character is already dead - and that is visible.
