#Equalized gear in guild siege

**Problem: **

PvP is locked behind a paywall creating a toxic PvP experience where players are not equal in a competitive game mode. Which is bad game design and gives other players an unfair advantage.

Solution:

When entering guild siege, or future, PvP modes equalize the gear the player has equipped, or can equip. This puts all players on more of an even playing field and incentivizes players to get better at PVP specifically, and not just spend money for an unfair advantage.

Example:

In the guild siege arena all armor & weapons are +10

All jewelry is +20

Community feedback:

  • Separate PvP mode

  • Potentially don’t allow use of premiums in guild siege

@civic nest care to express why you were opposed to this suggestion?

I voted against too. Performing in PvP is indeed greatly based on your gear. But this gives an incentive to grind and farm. If maxed gear is no longer required for PvP, then it will be less appealing to grind. I also don't agree with your word "unfair". A lot of players have good gears for PvP after having farmed a lot of hours. So I wouldn't say it gave them an "unfair" advantage.

With the new red tokens distribution system, I find it much easier than before to get equipment equivalent to the big guilds already in place

How about disabling prem usage in pvp entirely 🤔. Saves money. Changes up the meta. Prems still valuable in other content

What's the purpose of upgrading my gear then? Also Gala would lose immense amounts of money by implementing this, therefore it will never happen.

We can give them auto +6 gears kekw

Thank you for taking the time to respond in a constructive way.

From what I’ve seen a lot of people don’t farm and just top up to get their stuff as soon as possible, I’ve even seen people buy a whole account with F coin just to siege.

@maiden torrent The purpose of upgrading your gear would be to level faster in PVE and do better in dungeons.
and gala could potentially make more money if they had a better monetization plan in the first place…

@floral wadi I think the idea of removing premiums in guild siege is actually a good idea.

So far, it seems everyone who has down voted this has spent a considerable amount of money and might be biased.

I would be interested to hear opinions from @autumn hull @hybrid wasp @pliant sedge

prems should probably still exist, but you should be able to cover your expenses IMO
maybe even selling siege exclusive prems through chips.

Yes you can farm dungeons more efficiently with a good stuff but ultimately the aim is to drop cards to get better in PvP. So far there isn't really an endgame content in PvE except secret rooms but the rewards makes it not appealing right now.

What would be your opinion about having a second siege ? (before or after the regular one so that you can participate to both in the same night.) The regular siege and a maxed out one. The maxed out one should probably be less rewarding, because it will be easier to come and the investment is lower. But I agree it will be more fun so there's still a good reason to come. Just thinking out loud

I don't have much of value to add to this suggestion, besides it being a pipe dream. Best case scenario, they make a pvp mode where no CS can be used, but the rewards are giga-garbage, or it's just not fun and it's left to die.

I was thinking more along the lines of a separate pvp mode with maxed gear and prems provided that isn’t bound to a schedule more suited for pick up style pvp

Siege, as p2w as it is, clearly hits the right spots for some people and its probably better to not remove the feature that has people coming back to the game and has sustained the corpse of flyff online for over a decade

Old Dragon Nest pc have implemented this where gears doesn’t matter in a specific pvp mode so its purely skill based pvp. But to to be realistic Flyff is not a popular mmo this will hurt their revenue.

Devs could develop a new pvp mode that’s not too whale dependent tho. I’m thinking of a stats ceiling/limitation for example: only +2000 hp unicorn will be effective even if you have +6000 hp unicorn, limit accessory stats to +20 str/int/sta/dex, limit pierce suit to 16% etc. etc.

This will still incentivize p2w players and hardcore farmers/hunter that have geared their characters. Then leave the guild siege as it is.

I voted both for yes and no.

No:
We grind/farm in PvE so we can try to do better in PvP. The game in itself lacks a good PvP scene/area that isn't the arena. PK channel, while it's been "overhauled," it's lackluster to say the least. Even with the changes made to it, there really is no incentive to be on the channel. Pop prems, then roam around the land for 1hr and maybe find 1,2 or 3 ppl? complete waste. I know, I get it, prems are optional but when you're trying to gauge or min/max your gear to be potentially be ready for any scenario you can think of they come in handy. Plus, they're in the game for a reason, no? As of right now, Siege provides this area/arena for players to do all of the above. To showcase that your PvE grinding/farming has paid off, somewhat at least.

Yes:
If it were up to me, I would love to see something similar to that of the Mission war /Nation war that Cabal Online has/had. capture the flag style. Level mattered a bit, it determined what bracket you were going to participate in. All brackets happened at the same time. Wars ocurred multiple times a day every 3 hours apart starting 6am EST ending 3am EST. The important war happened on Saturdays in the highest bracket, winning faction would receieve a Bonus war buff for 7 days. Bonus exp/ drop rate/ skill exp for a week. Gear wise: killing mobs/ppl in the arena would drop specific weapons which gave amazing stats to help even out the playing field. While the weapons were optional to equip, anyone who could get their hands on them would use them. I would love to see pvp mode(s) that even out the playing field and allows everyone to participate regardless of their gear, guild, level and above all prems. Would prefer it if said mode was not locked to 1 day a week at a certain time and not guild locked.

I agree with the idea of equality but not in that way. Not makes sense doing a effort to upgrade gears, jelwery and weapons that need to invest time.

You say people are grinding and farming for this gear but in reality they're spending 100s of dollars, there is no player grinding for these things because in order to grind for it you first need to grind for a regular set then grind enough money to make ANOTHER set just for PVP. Unless you're jobless and playing the game 16 hours a day you're not going to be able to farm enough penya to make these sets in a reasonable time. If you're a new player starting the game today I'm positive it will take 6 months of no life grinding in order to even be able to compete in Siege.
