#Is there a simple way to customise the style of JP mining note?

I'm not very tech savy and I don't have much patience with it too😅 so it took me a few days to make the JPMN setup to work, and it's great I was very proud of myself.

But now, I look at it and... Egh, it's good but not great. I really like when the fron card has an image and an audio, but no matter how much I google there doesn't seem to be a way to do it without digging through code and tweaking the template in there.

And I'm okay with doing minor tweaks, but there's so much code and it's like looking for a needle in... Well you know...

TL;DR Is there a simple way to make the card on image 1 to look like image 2? Ideally I'd want to highlight the Kanji with a different colour too. What would be the best/easiest way to do it?

P.S. I hope it's the right place to ask, because on JPMN setup page, the person who made it asid they were hanging around here, so here I am.

hihi i feel like the Lapis note type will fit you much better than the JPMN one, lapis is based off of JPMN but is way easier to customize/change in anyway you want, it also just straight up looks better and is actually updated

#

Also changing and customizing cards is a relatively straight forward process but it does take some technical knowhow (basic knowledge of HTML / CSS)

Lapis is literally jpmn but easier to customize, I also recommend switching to lapis

#

jpmn is practically impossible to customize on the other hand, no one can help you

yeah very difficult and doesn’t even look better when you get it to work lmao

the thinking is that you dont want to make an association with anything but the vocab and meaning itself^

#

having the image/audio on the front will make it so you might recognize the characters voice and recognize the meaning of the word which is not ideal

#

same with the image, some specific colour on it

#

Or whatever it be :D

Hey! Thank you so much for your answers does it support both Mac and PC? Because I also tried a different note type (forgot the name) that I liked, but it was only for Windows and I'm on MacOS:(

it should work yes, lapis is a basic note type with no extra fluff to do like jpmn

Oh wow, really? Renshuu seems so good with all the mnemonics and you can scribble kanji right there too

#

but I did start using it because I was struggling with 2k/6k... Every Kanji is just painful to remember

#

May I ask why you don't recommend 2k/6k and Renshuu? Or is there somewhere I can read about it?

We do not recommend individual kanji study, learning words directly is faster and more relevant to your immersion, learning individual kanji in isolation is simply not useful

#

It's harder in the beginning but you'll waste less time in the long term by directly learning words

But I mean 2k/6k deck does teach words

old gust
#

Oh about core 2k6k

#

it's full of errors

#

and the vocab pool isn't well chosen, lots of rare words that won't be useful to beginners, it's also too long
