So I just learned that Yomitan is an extention and got it, tried to get it to work with no avail. I even tried loading the video subs into asbplayer and holding shift and it's still not doing anything. I've only ever seen it work once, and that was from a comment of a video after trying to highlight and copy it for jishou.

Is shift the keybind that's set in the settings? Have you tried yomitan on other websites? What browser? Do you have dictionaries installed?

Small update, I can just highlight the text and right click and see that it translates, I don't know how well that actually works though
I can tell, it still doesn't seem to be working very well for me though
