  1. I would use a basic grammar guide as a primer. If you feel you're ready to start sentence mining, imo the sooner the better.

  2. Embracing ambiguity is a good thing. I'm also in the same boat and find I have a good tolerance for ambiguity and was able to watch shows with low comprehension no problem. While this isn't detrimental, you will just make progress more slowly with incomprehensible content. If you find you like freeflow immersion, I would spend that time on easier shows where you can understand more.

  3. There's some debate about this, but in my opinion no amount of reading will damage your accent as long as you get enough auditory input. Even if you spent a long time reading with no audio (months, assuming you aren't outputting), as long as you went back later and got auditory input you would probably be okay. Just don't try to speak based on your internal monologue until you have enough of an instinct for how the language sounds. Speak based on auditory input.

  4. If you find it motivating, absolutely. If you find yourself getting burned out, don't do it. This comes down to personal preference. Consistency over time is more important than short term numbers though.
