I'm just beginning studying kana atm I have about 43 of them learnt so far and I was wondering is it a bad idea to watch videos such as these in my free time? (I'll link it below)

GameGengo is good for providing examples from games which show the usage of grammar in a natural setting, so it would be fine to watch those.

You do need to immerse to let it sink in though.

I would recommend grinding through kana quickly before focusing on anything else.

Although it won't be that hard since GG will voice the examples/tell you what they mean, if you're using other grammar resources, you won't be able to read them.
