I recently heard about this add on and ive been curious about using it to help boost my Japanese learning retention on anki. Do you guys recommend it?

#

Also to whoever uses it, what settings do you recommend.

It’s already included in anki. And I would enable it.
You set your target retention and just learn. After a while you can let fsrs optimize itself based on your personal learning parameters (how good you remember stuff).
Alongside with it I recommend installing fsrs-anki-helper, it smoothens out your workload and stuff

Thanks. Does it have problems with the migaku add on by any chance?

Maybe we can ask @azure ice if he's noticed anything amiss

#

But I doubt migaku would make their addon unusable with fsrs

Well, Migaku does a lot of things, but that's not the place for that 😄
No, Migaku does normally not interfere with scheduling, only card creation and stuff as far as I'm aware.
According to ankiweb the current version (the one with fsrs) is supported as well. However, they seem to want to implement some stuff what the fsrs-helper already does, so there i see some potential for incompatibility. In the past i had to be very careful with addons in general using migaku. So fsrs should work, the helper maybe

true, better contact them or ask in their discord server if they have one

Yes they do. Somewhere on the page it should be linked

it is not compatible with migaku's rescheduling feature, but you can turn that off anyway

#

a rule of thumb is that if any addon has a different scheduling algorithm then it will not be compatible with fsrs

#

just make sure these two options on the migaku addon are turned off and it should be fine
