#srt file says "no subtitles" in ASBplayer but looks fine in notepad

I've attached the srt file here. For some reason it opens fine in notepad but asbplayer thinks there are no subtitles. It desn't even throw an error (see screenshot).
I'm not sure how relevant this is, but another interesting point is that the file opens in Notepad but NOT Notepad++. Again, it doesn't throw an error, it simply doesn't load. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I also... can't upload the srt file? No error message, the upload box closes and no errors appear but the file isn't uploaded. Bizarre.

I can upload a zip of the srt, somehow.
