#Reviewing Anki cards is slow and very frustrating

I don't know if it's normal or not, but reviewing Anki cards is very hard for me. There are times when I have only 5-6 cards in circulation and see the same words over and over again, but still can't get them right. It takes me a lot of time and it's very frustrating and demotivating, especially when I see I got 50 or more cards to review and know that ver time the number's just going to rise. I try to make the process easier like playing nice songs in the background (lo-fi stuff that doesn't get in the way) or taking a short 2-3 minute break, but it can only do so much. Is it a me thing or does reviewing cards make you feel like a total idiot that cannot get anything into their mind sometimes? If it is a me thing, is there anything that could help?
(Irrelevant, but I use JP1K, if anyone is wondering.)

(Also forgot to mention, I usually immerse from 30 minutes to an hour and a half every day.)

This situation will happen regularly when you're reviewing - where there's one or more that just will absolutely not stick no matter how hard you try. First of all, it's okay. Don't worry this happens to everyone, and way more often in the beginning - so it will get better.

How to deal with it - when you recognize this is occurring, do yourself a favor and pass the card. You may even want to start following a general rule of only failing an item once per session. After that, next time you see it, try to recall again but pass no matter what.

Sometimes cards will leech. I have TONS of leeches. Don't worry about it. It doesn't mean you're not going to learn the word. As a matter of fact, letting leeches leech lets you stop spinning your wheels and spend your time on more useful things.

Wow, thanks for the quick answer! It does make sense to just go a little easier on myself, though, I am afraid that with each day getting 10 new cards + not remembering the previous cards well would lead to myself being overwhelmed by the amount of cards I don't know. But I'll follow your advice and hopefully it'll be just a bit more bearable. :)

aYesCat one more thing id like to mention, the foundation deck you do in the beginning is an important step because it's a really efficient way to kickstart your comprehension by jamming a bunch of words that are really common.

But don't overestimate its importance - if you leech a lot of cards and its hard to remember the items, it's okay. All of those words are common. You would have to try very hard to avoid learning them by just continuing to immerse.
