Hi guys, I looked back through old messages to see if I could find something to speed up subtitle renaming, and came across this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/subvidrenamer/
The person who posted it had no issues, but I seem to be getting this error. Has anyone else solved it? I tried a few different things but no luck. Thanks!

@hearty nest I saw this in the page's description. Is this something you have installed?

Yup, and chances are I already had it

#

I also looked into qt5 which is claims is a requirement despite the libraries being present in the install folder

#

Installed it via python

I saw in a thread about this issue with a different program that just like the error message suggested it can sometimes fixed by reinstalling the program. Before looking into other potential solutions, could you go ahead and try to reinstall the program if you haven't done so already?

#

I know some people find it annoying to be asked to try some of the more obvious things like turning off and turning on the device and that kind of stuff, but from my experience the more obvious stuff is more often than not the solution so that's why I make sure it's tried first. Especially with an issue like this where other suggested solutions are for instances that are significantly less likely to have occurred

I reinstalled it like 3 time already too

#

Yeah dw I know the deal with that stuff, I'm a Dev so

#

I'm always telling people to do the basics first hah

#

If you have a moment, maybe see if you get the same issue? Seems weird the OP who posted it had no issue

The only information I can find about this issue online is that either a program didn't install correctly or something is corrupted on your system. At least it won't do any harm to try this command just to see if it finds anything

#

Unfortunately I can't try the program myself since I'm not using Windows, but since I don't see any comments on that page about this issue it seems likely it's something with your system

#

Okay so I've run a couple of experiments in Wine and I'm having the same issue there even after installing Visual Studio Redistributable (and also the 2017 version, since I noticed SVR's latest update was in 2020), so yeah it could probably be a dependency that wasn't mentioned on that page. I'll continue experimenting and see if I can find a way to solve it

Glad to hear it's not just me (sorta)

#

I'll give that tip a spin just to be sure

#

I tried a few other pieces of software for this and none of them seem to work as intended

#

Was hoping to avoid just having to write some custom code to do it
