I took 2 years of Japanese in highschool and know hiragana and katakana, grammar, and some vocab (probably a few hundred words), and I'm trying to get back into learning but don't know where I should continue. Basically, I'm not sure if I should start 2A or learn more vocab first (I have the JP1K anki deck but haven't touched it for months).
#How do I know where I should continue if I have previously stopped learning?

Stage 2A means you have gone through 1000 vocab and are usually sentence mining. I would just finish jp1k and suspend any cards you already know while making sure you immerse at least an hour a day
Sounds good thank you!

Oh wops, I read the stages online and it just said it's about collecting tools and getting set up and stuff, guess I need to demote myself lol
Nah lol. If you're immersing and learning vocab, you're stage 1
But everyone is immersing and learning vocabulary lol
I changed it back to 1 anyway
So after you have about 1000 words you go to 2?
So 2a then
It's just an arbitrary cut off since 2a doesn't have comp requirements
So people are always confused about when to go to 2a
Yeah that's what was confusing me
I didn't have the problem with mandarin because I was past that before Refold started and just went straight to 4 😅
But thanks, I'll just keep it at 1 until I finish my premade deck anyway
Makes sense
