it isn't absolutely necessary as I do have ethernet cable, however I do lean towards having it as a backup in case the cord was ever damaged or if I moved
just so I wouldn't be stuck without any option
i just added wifi anyways there's not much of a difference in price
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bq3r6r 12600k performs pretty much identically to 12700k in gaming, added parametric selection for the gpu just to choose the cheapest one, ram will overclock significantly higher and you don't need anything close to 64gb ram for what you're doing but 32gb ballistix rgb isn't much more than 16gb right now, new ssd and hdd have identical load times as the old ssd and hdd, significantly better cooler, you don't need 1000w for a 12600k and 3080ti, only changed motherboard because of the better rgb software, case has significantly better airflow
alright, I'll definitely take this all into consideration, thank you very much
I did specifically choose 64 GB ram knowing it was overkill though, I've spent years stuck on an old and dying 8 GB ram computer followed by a 4 GB ram laptop, I just want to never have to think about RAM limitations ever again even if it costs extra lol
the one question I have is: aesthetically and for some other reasons I prefer the case I had picked out -- would there be any issues size/compatibility-wise with your recommendations but in the original Razer Tomahawk case?
Even 32gb ram is overkill, and the pcpp compatility filter won’t let you use the razer tomahawk if there are size restrictions
I chose a different case because the razer tomahawk has very subpar airflow
If you want something that looks similar there’s also the lancool 205 mesh or cooler master nr600 which should both work with those parts
even the h510 flow would work
I see, well, I'll keep that in mind
