#pc help (build)
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Well, sorry for the wait. That took too long to find out how to make a link. Just for some background information. This is my current Gaming PC build, with all parts that I own (aside from the thermal paste, but that's for down the line). I don't have a budget as of yet, but I am asking what I should prioritize buying first if and when the time comes
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xpBnC6
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
This works
Also, some things aren't 1:1 because they aren't on PCPartPicker, like I have a chinesium PCCooler (that's literally the name of the company), the keyboard is an HP Encoder (generic red switch keyboard) and generic dual Ethernet port expansion card
are you saying these are parts you want to buy for ur build later?
wait
no im stupid
thats ur current pc
okay so, you want to know what you should be upgrading first
Yeah everything aside from the mx4 grease is all stuff I own
And I should mention
everything here I got for sale
i would say, since you have 1440p and 4k monitors, i'd highly recommend you prioritize getting a new GPU and power supply
Mm hmm
also holy shit, i built in a mx330 before lol, that bitch is tight
I have a much bigger case on the side that fits a Corsair a500 in it XD
haha nice
but yeah, i'd save up for a better gpu and power supply
aim for a 750 or 850w psu and get a 6700xt/6800xt
that mouse looks dated imo, but especially i'd recommend upgrading ur headphones and buying a dedicated microphone, those are just things that I think is worth upgrading
your cpu, cooler and motherboard are more than fine
wait my bad LOL i thought that said mATX mid tower
i have this thread in a smaller window rn
Ah, that'd do it
otherwise, i dont have any other recommendations for you
All that makes sense
6700xt and 6800xt should see heavy price reductions around the holidays, pair that with a good power supply and voila
you're set to enjoy higher refresh rate 1440p gaming
Yeah with the next gen amd stuff coming out I hope the current gen stuff gets reduced in price
Also I have a dedicated mic, but yeah I know my g332 is crap
6700xt averages $350 for used
I had a Corsair hs60 pro, but I had to give that to a bro since his headset went kaput
damn, you're a good man
Also I couldn't find it, but that 3rd nvme is on a run of the mill riser card
how is ur mic crap btw, any specifics?
Yeah the p2 is crap, but I spent $70 on that crap
Oh I lost the box for it last summer, I forget what it is
on sale
I think fefine?
It's a mic company

Its custom cardioid condenser capsule delivers crystal-clear audio quality that’s light-years ahead of your built-in computer microphone. With an eye-catching retro design...
Oh yeah, those things as well
One last thing. On the headset thing specifically, I found this on Amazon prime day, and it's still on sale
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DCKP6D4?tag=rtings-hp-d-amazon-20&ie=UTF8

It’s lightweight and features signature HyperX memory foam and soft leatherette for legendary comfort. Its 90°...
At the moment, $60, but I can bump it up
I know audio quality is crap at this price range
But I haven't given it 2 thoughts really. I'm no audio expert, I just see lines and graphs
haha
With fps in games that's easy. With sound, it's a bit harder to quantify
i just think studio headphones have better comfort and sound profiles
Makes sense. they aren't spending money on extras like rgb
This is the pair that I own, a tad pricey but very comfortable (relatively loose, so they're stay at home headphones for sure) and they're open back
so you get a more natural surround sound stage
however, that does mean u can hear outside noises more
I don't know why you listed that last thing as bad
I live in a house with brothers. Hearing each other is a good thing
Great advice. Thanks a lot
some people prefer more isolated sounds
I do however, have a $200 DAC to fully take advantage of the audio drivers of it
okay so il explain it for ya
My grandfather has cassette, vhs, even laserdisc at his house. The man loves music
Even did the speakers in his house himself XD*
But that's off topic
I'll upgrade his audio equipment later
As for my PC, it seems clear: Gpu and PSU first, then headset and better mic
most headphones, especially studio grade ones, actually require more power than regular 3.5mm drivers provide to access its full frequency range.
A DAC is an Digital to Analog Converter, and what they do is basically provide the necessary power and also clean the audio coming through to your headphones. its super basic what im saying im sure someone can better explain it in detail but thats the gist
basically yea
np
Last question
If I move my stuff to the more spacious ps14e, should I get some 140mm fans for it?
Arctic sells 5 packs for dirt cheap, like $40 new and $25 on their b stock ebay
honestly
thats up to you; for me, i wouldn't bc it would not make a difference, all you need is air to flow
however, if noise if of importance, getting high PFM fans at 140mm means u can push the same volume of air at a lower RPM and therefore lower noise level
I dunno if anyone would see this chat given it's over, but if you do I forgot to post my mic, so here it is
