so i got my friends video edit at 4096x2160 resolution, and there were black bars in 1080p
i zoomed it in, and it removed the black bars
i have another video i wanna merge that is 1080p with the following video but i can only set the sequence in premiere to one
what do i do?

#

ping me for an answer pls

Figure out what aspect ratio and exact resolution this is

#

1920x1080 I asssume

#

In that case, just set the project resolution to 1920x1080 and scale the video up until it does not have any black bars

#

But there are a lot of ways to do this, so it’s your decision

#

Google some other solutions

#

@wanton condor rn im rendering my 1080p video

#

so i can merge it

wanton condor
#

Wdym merge

sharp pewter
#

merge with the other video

wanton condor
#

import it into the premier project?

sharp pewter
#

well not a project my friend just sent me mp4

#

but yea a new project

wanton condor
#

You shouldn’t need to render it for that to work

#

Just change the scale of that video once it’s in the project

sharp pewter
#

so i should make a new project, drag the incorrect size mp4 in

#

and how do i rescale it?

wanton condor
#

Click the video, look in the effect settings and change the scale

sharp pewter
#

i tried changing the sequence settings

#

oh ok

wanton condor
#

Google “how to change scale of video premier pro” if you can’t figure it out

#

Google should be able to solve most of your issues

sharp pewter
#

ok

#

and once i

#

set the scale

#

to 1080p, i can drag both in and render right

wanton condor
#

Yes

sharp pewter
#

and then encode to 4k after

wanton condor
#

Yes but it’d be better to render at 4k then (just scale the 1080p video up to that resolution)

#

Since one of the videos is already high resolution

sharp pewter
#

@wanton condor but the 4096x2160 is kinda diff from normal 4k right

#

cause normal 4k is 3000 smth x 2160

wanton condor
#

3840x2160, yes

sharp pewter
#

the aspect ratio is also diff

wanton condor
#

But that just means it’ll cut out the sides, which is the same thing it would do with 1920x1080

#

3840x2160 is the same aspect ratio as 1920x1080

sharp pewter
#

@wanton condor when i try to make the other video 1080p

#

it zooms it in a lot

#

how do i fix that?

#

nvm i fixed it, i just zommed it back out
