im not really experienced with vegas and all that but for the last couple of projects ive done, they all came out fine without any issue, but this one particular project of mine keeps coming out with black bars, i even tried rendering individual clips within the project and unticking the maintain aspect ratio thing and it still didn't work.

These are my settings, not rendering it at 4k this is a larger project and ill use ffmpeg for it

#

basically this

bumping this thread

#

for added context, before i click render and actually start rendering, the preview window in vegas is 'large' i guess you could say

#

or at least the normal size

#

and when i start rendering, the preview window itself shrinks

#

and then the final product also gets smaller, video wise, not file size wise

#

also as of now i rendered a small portion (like a 13 second part) of the vegas project and it came out without any black bars

#

also check the properties of the video if its 1080

#

1920

void osprey
#

like in the mediaplayer?

wild plinth
#

right click and properties

void osprey
#

alright

#

but side note i rendered it in 1920x1080 first

#

cause i didnt want to render it in 4k in vegas

#

would take forever

wild plinth
#

i think its windows media player problem
or might be something with ur original video

void osprey
#

yeah its weird

#

like

#

i rendered a random 13 second part of it and it came out fine

#

i think its something i put in the timeline but im not sure

#

but ive gone through nearly everything there so im just confused

void osprey
#

dont think its the mediaplayer either because the moment i click render the entire project shrinks in the preview window

wild plinth
void osprey
#

aight

wild plinth
#

and if its not mediaplayer
1: vegas timeline/rendering issue
2: something wrong with your original clip

#

most likely ur original clip is fine so its about vegas

void osprey
#

yeah

wild plinth
#

Hmmmm

void osprey
#

i dont think its related to it being pirated either

#

first time its happened

wild plinth
#

idk if it will work but try saving the template of ur vid

#

cuz sometimes it doesnt save

#

unless its already saved

void osprey
#

like when u say template

#

u mean MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 -> template?

wild plinth
#

yes

void osprey
#

i use 3 different profiles that are already saved

#

one is 4k one is 1440 and one is 1920

wild plinth
#

then check ur timeline

void osprey
#

yeah

wild plinth
#

what version of vegas are u using

void osprey
#

18 pro

#

i unticked maintain aspect ratio on the only thing i thought could be causing it which was an image i put in

wild plinth
#

does the vegas preview have the same blackbars as the rendered video?

void osprey
#

i mean im rendering it as we speak rn and it looks fine here

wild plinth
#

after it renders lmk if it does have the same problem

void osprey
#

aight\

#

that will take a while

#

7 minutes 17 seconds

#

its at like 40% rn

void osprey
#

@wild plinth

#

no black bars

#

putting it through ffmpeg to upscale 2 4k rn
