So I come from a clinical background. Rehabilitation means something very different and I doubt the watermain needs to get over a drug addiction.

The city will be doing "structural watermain rehabilitation." Outside my house for the next month or so. And that's all the information I know. They have a big machine with something hanging into a storm drain.

What exactly are they doing? Is this going to be loud (I have a toddler who naps during the day and I like napping on occasion)?

Thanks to all urban knowers

Yeah, Banana’s comment will help but basically they’re replacing/repairing the existing water main. Typically they would have to cut service to the customers in the area, dig up the pipe and lay down new pipe. But modern tech allows them to do the same kind of work without the needing of ripping up the road.

It’s still construction but with less impacts basically. But what they are going to do in terms of noise, depends on what is needed.
