Well, you see, the initial goal for SB was to be ~100% vanilla, without any mods. Of course, in C:S2 that's impossible, and I fully understand that, for gaming and recording purposes, some mods like Move It! and Anarchy are indispensable.

However, I believe they should be used as a little helper instead of an in-game constant as in, please, continue to terraform before placing ordinary roads and try not to maintain anarchy enabled as you build :(

TBF Anarchy On all the time should never really be done in any build... but MoveIt? Not needed, sometimes helpful but definitely not "indispensable". Only thing I ever used it for was adjusting the node length for junctions (road and rail).

not sure what you mean by its impossible to play without mods

#

what about the episodes of mc before pdx mods??

#

we also had this same debate on verde beach when phil was building an airport i belive, and he used move it to delete a sea shipping lane, and people voted for no mods

I think the issue this time around is that the mods aren't in order to make the game playable... It's to make the game actually enjoyable for Phil, who wants to do a lot of detailing that vanilla tools just don't allow for.

I dont see any issue with any of it let the man play the game how he best enjoys it

#

And how it makes the best content for us to consume

Counterpoints/agreements for @frank island @tulip quarry @gentle canopy and @light leaf!

So. Point 1) You are right! I mean... CS2 has an unimagineable flexibility with road building. It's fun! Though, for better building placement, Move It! IS necessary. Zoning is janky

  1. Yup, we had! And to be fair, it was for good. Some couldn't download mods, some didn't want to. But I do believe it's not fully disposable anymore (so it is playable and enjoyable) but also not a necessity anymore

  2. Then, use the mods for specific purposes during the Landscaping and Detailing bit! Not for nearly everything, if that makes sense

  3. but the goal for SB was to be a vanilla series. If I wanted a modded series, I'd watch Magnolia County :^

I was arguing against mods but yeah

While the point of SB was to be vanilla I much prefer it having mods. I watch it because I want to be inspired and see others thought process when building a city. But that’s just me.
