Pine Pass - A Winter Snow Resort

I am kicking off 2023 with a brand new Cities: Skylines series on a snow map! Pine Pass is a snow covered region nestled in the mountains and features a winding river and lake access. The goal is to build a small city with an emphasis on winter recreation and tourism.

I have a really bad habit of assigning detailing in Cities Skylines to, "I'll get to that in a minute" and then, well, never doing it. But not this time! Low land values in Cities Skylines are resolved and help the city reach the Big Town milestone, Stirling Davies Lumber expands and adds more jobs, and a nature reserve in a potentially controversial location is built in episode 6 of Pine Pass.

The town of Pine Pass in Cities Skylines has need for higher education but limited places suitable to build it. So, I scout out locations while also keeping in mind future infrastructure needs, and ultimately settle on a nice bit of river front property for a Trade School.

Pine Pass in Cities Skylines continues to grow and grow, hitting the Small City milestone with 9,000 population, and today we have a LOT to do in order to keep up! A high school sporting center is replaced, the nature park expands, several city blocks are razed to make way for higher density, and the trade school receives some improvements!

The city of Pine Pass in Cities Skylines reaches 14,000 citizens and the Big City milestone, bringing additional deathcare, Davies Wood plants some trees, the trade school is building once again, and the city, county, and state - along with a mysterious industrial investor - pool resources to tackle a MAJOR highway project that connects two interstate highways and builds a new interchange for future expansion.

The city of Pine Pass in Cities Skylines has annexed some land across the river from the Trade School, but first the state constructs a new snow dump area, the city expands their geothermal heating plant, and finally, several new roads are built and a new neighborhood is born.

After months of hiding behind shell companies, the true identity of the mystery developer is revealed to be the primary stakeholder in a massive international mining conglomerate. The citizens of Pine Pass are NOT happy about the plans to expand mining operations just outside their city and, as a concession, the developer commits to creating a large community of single and multi-family affordable housing on some prime real estate in Pine Pass.

The Trade School campus in the Cities Skylines town of Pine Pass has reached level five and is now a Prestigious campus! With that milestone achieved, the campus is overhauled to avoid excess capacity while maintaining a high level of attractiveness so the school can carry on as prestigious for years to come!

Pine Pass in Cities Skylines has even more affordable single family homes built and construction begins on the very controversial Prime Ore - Dyal Mining ore industry campus.

After years in its current location, Sterling Davies Lumber in Pine Pass is ready to expand but they are space constrained. So the state helps fund a new highway up into the hills and the entire operation is relocated and, as a result, becomes a nice five star forestry industry in Cities Skylines.

Unemployment is rising in Pine Pass, and that means our Cities Skylines residents are moving out. Two small industrial parks are built, which will also help reduce goods imports, and numerous blocks are zoned for office and commercial. Several new bus routes are added to help citizens get to work. And at the very end, we build additional snow removal facilities.
