Since the industry Town of Evergreen is starting to expand, it seems like their sense of community would necessitate a need for branding (for tourism and industry purposes), so I thought I'd propose some flag ideas for the Town of Evergreen. These two are based on the colors of the flags of Nicolet Bay and Superior. Since Evergreen has a pretty big shipping area, I made the blue portion take up a large chunk of the bottom left part of the flag to represent the port industry.

Thoughts?

Design 1: I have the star and the blue field on the leftmost third, and the other two-thirds are white with an evergreen tree

#

Design 2: I moved the star and blue field into the full HALF of the left side of the flag, and I moved the evergreen to the right half.

For those of you who are interested in vexillology, you should check out the "Good flag, Bad flag" link above. Written by Ted Kaye of the North American Vexillological Association (NAVA), it's a fantastic guide to what makes a flag bad.

The Five Principles are:

**Keep It Simple. ** The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory.
**Use Meaningful Symbolism. **The flag's images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it symbolizes.
**Use 2 or 3 Basic Colors. ** Limit the number of colors on the flag to three which contrast well and come from the standard color set.
**No Lettering or Seals. **Never use writing of any kind or an organization's seal.
**Be Distinctive or Be Related. **Avoid duplicating other flags, but use similarities to show connections.
