#TMPE Traffic light gone Haywire! HELP!!!

Located the issue now is fine with normal amounts of traffic flow but under high stress the time gets overwhelmed by how many people are waiting with the backups so is there any tips to how to fix the lights changing so quickly?
well, the lights changing quickly is cause by your minimum time being so low (1s). And it just so happens that after 1s, enough traffic has cleared that there's now more people waiting than driving, so it switches to the next step.
it's a bit complicated because you have bus lanes there, though to be honest the bus lanes don't appear to actually be being used by any buses?
oh there is one bus that uses them at one point
Not enough to be worth using!
no, there's actually one bus that seems to go straight ahead from the left turn lane (you can see this in the right hand side of the screen at 10s in, to about 22s)
which means you have allowed buses to ignore lane arrows
I've since removed that
ok
but anyway, I don't think these bus lanes are doing much for you right now
plus you need to allow people to turn right in the bus lane anyway, as otherwise you only have a left turn lane and a straight ahead lane
I've simplified the lanes down and increased the minimum time to around 15 seconds
I'm just trying to figure out why you're using 6 steps
I need a pen and paper to write these down
yeah, which 4-phase are you going to use?
Ctrl+Click, or Ctrl+Alt+Click, or manually create a hybrid of the two
I think I'd go for a hybrid of the two
Simple 4 phase worked its eating traffic like a boss now!
some made some edits to connecting roads as well less stops in between
that's what I would do, I think, as it looks like there's very few vehicles approaching from the left side of the screen on the video
and with mismatched traffic volumes on approaches like that, the split phasing (in blue in my diagram) works best
whereas when you do have two approaches are are both fairly heavy traffic, then you can run both left turns together (red in my diagram above) and then have both straight throughs going together
it's all in my traffic light guide
which I am (very!) slowly turning into a youtube tutorial
I think with two of these streets being collectors I can keep the basic settings it looks like its doing great but its going to take hours for the traffic to clear
