unlike illagers. the Ancient Builders didnt know the secrets of life and death. if they died. its either they ran out of totems or that they didnt even know the secrets of life and death. BUT. they know the secrets of the human body ( in minecraft ) and how to make it stronger. because we see golden apples in so many ancient ruins or builds. like the desert pyramid. having chests with loot including golden apple and sometimes god apple. or the enchanted golden apple. whatever you call it. so that means they were close to beat death. but they couldnt. because golden apples are not enough. you gotta die at some point surviving by only eating golden apples. Right?

not exactly, illagers can also die pretty easily
It doesn't seem like either was close to really defeating death
you got a point
Tbf at least one of the ancient builders did beat death
Are Totems of Undying obtainable in Ancient Builder structures?
If yes, then they did know but it wasn't enough to save them.
If no, then they were certainly close to unlock the secrets of Life and Death.
Seriously though, I genuinely don't remember/know whether or not Totems can be found in Builder structures
They can't be found in any structures, the only way to get them is as a loot drop
from the evokers
Okay then the Builders surprisingly didn't invented Immortality first but they were most definitely very close given their EGapples, and maybe the Illadari picked up what the Buildari left and worked their way from there to invent the totems
Eh… I guess, if you would call totems immortality
I'm talking about the player lmao
Not totems of undying
I also wasn't talking to you, and also the Player might just be special
Obvious. I mean look at any sci-fi story: when a species are so good at conquering their space, they will do anything to conquer their time.
Illagers know totems, but don't use 'em lmao
Maybe they just don't want to waste them? Maybe they're hoarding them for a grander purpose
I doubt it, if that was true we would likely find them in greater numbers
and there's not much reason to say that they are, it's logical that they wouldn't be able to activate them unless they were holding them, the same way it works for the player
Maybe they just don't know how they exactly work
Actually we wouldn't find them in greater numbers. They are special so to prevemt enemies from getting them, they would need to be only a handful.
