i installed it and it worked fine, your desktop environment should have no problem with it, since it appears the programs spotdl uses dont interact with it

if you came from windows here are some tips:
For linux instead of pip is pip3
you'll install you python packages from here
you'll need an ffmpeg installed before hand, for that you use apt install ffmpeg (or something like that)
