When I try to run spotDL I get the error that FFMPEG cannot be found. After trying to run the command to install ffmpeg for spotDL I get the error spotdl: error: the following arguments are required: query My next step was to install ffmpeg globally, which also didn't fix the problem. Any help?

The commands were pip install -U spotdl then every requirement during that install was 'already satisfied'. Then command spotdl --download-ffmpeg which lead me to error spotdl: error: the following arguments are required: query

you have an outdated version. make sure you aren't using python 3.12. it doesn't support version 4

Is downgrading as simple as downloading an older version from python.org?

uninstall the old version first, and then install 3.11
