I just got spotdl and do things in the terminal. The website makes it seem like you can enter youtube URLs instead of the spotify URLs but its not working for me. Ive ran the update command and am on the most current version. Im a total normie so i could be just missing something in this error message that might be apparent to some of you guys. Using a Youtube URL + the ' download' command has usually throws a 'KeyError' in search.py.
I am not sure if this is just an issue in the latest version(s) or if the library is not designed for this.
You can specify specific YouTube videos to download with Spotify metadata, or vice versa.
To do this, use the notation spotdl download "YouTubeURL|SpotifyURL"
Note that the quote marks (") are essential.
