Hello. First time user here. I generated a preload file (it took about 15 hours), with the expectation of accelerating download times. And now I don't know how to use it to accelerate the whole download process.

how long was your playlist if it took you 15h????

#

to use the save file, just put it in the query and you should be good to go.

spotdl download myFile.spotdl

It was 3,750 songs. And thank you for the response.

I get this error when doing that:
My exact command was: spotdl download ThePlaylist.spotdl.
Am I missing something?

#

My copy paste of the command prompt text failed.

what version are you using?

#

can you upload your spotdl file

Here's the file I'm trying to use.
As far as version, -v gives me 4.1.6.
I installed via [pip install spotdl] I believe.

I'm making a new preload test file with a single song to see if maybe something is just weird with this one.

It seems a newly generated single-song preload file functioned as expected.

Now further testing. I accidentally copied over my preload file with my metadata file (generated and kept for the sole purpose of a text copy of my spotify playlist). But I didn't realize until after I ran the download function that I did that. Yet it threw no errors and started downloading?
Putting the actual preload file back yielded the same errors. Putting it in a new folder yielded the same errors.
