Like the title says, I can read Hangul, but not understand what it means. I was told to learn Hangul first. Where should I go beyond here?

learn basic words: start w simple vocab (ex: food, greetings, numbers) apps like lingodeer or memrise are fun for this as far as I heard from learners. since I'm a native I don't really learn the same

#

then master grammar basics. learn sentence structure sentence structure (subject-object-verb)
simple patterns like 저는 먹어요 (I eat) will get you far

#

don't forget practice listening. watch korean dramas, youtube, or listen to k-pop with subtitles to get used to usual phrases and pronunciation

I'd master how to pronounce the consonants and vowels together so that its easier to sound the words out as you learn new ones. You might recognize the start of some words based off of their first syllable and you can look up what they mean as you go. Self-fueling learning binge
