A while ago, I accidentally dropped my DMX in some water, and I thought it was unsalvageable. I kept it for sentimental value, though. Recently, I decided to put a battery in it to see what would happen, and to my surprise, it turned on! However, the buttons don't work, except for the reset button. I'm wondering if it is actually salvageable or if I should just give up on it.

It could have a chance! The button membranes may have lost conductivity as the carbon pads on the bottom may have eroded or degraded due to the damage.

I'd advise swapping the buttons out for another from another DM20 or DMX if you have them.

Alternatively, the board looks a bit funky (especially around the battery area!)

I'd advise to clean the board around the battery area, the battery prongs, and where the buttons make contact on the board with some isopropyl alcohol, leaving to dry before reassembly.

Hope you can squeeze the life back into the unit!

Thank you, I'm happy to hear that because this digital monster in particular means a lot to me, and to know that there is a genuine chance it could be restored is really good to hear
