Hey all - my PenOG 4.0 is not registering shakes. I went into the test screen to confirm.

I opened it up alongside another PenOG and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary (besides a missing piece of plastic near the metal connector prongs, but it’s not clear that this is related).

I was hoping to learn if there are common issues that crop up with the pendulum pieces themselves - or common troubleshooting steps?

I should clarify that the clack is audible, and the pendulum piece moved when manipulated manually

it could be that the contacts have gotten a bit grimy over the years, it can help to get a bit of isopropanol and rub it on the pendulum and contact pad to clean them up

Ah that didn’t even occur to me! Seems like a good bet - the interior was pretty dirty, probably from the missing plastic piece on top letting in dust and other particles.
I’ll give it a try tmrw and report back

I found my isopropyl alcohol. This worked! It’s functional now. Thanks @meager wigeon for the tip
