My cellphone doesn't have an nfc reader and I read that an adapter will not cut it. Are thr alternatives for battling?

to trigger a battle on your watch, you just need an NFC signal

so if your switch is searching for an amiibo, like in a game or the amiibo settings, you can just scan the watch and it'll trigger a battle
