how do i apply the english file?

using https://github.com/cfogrady/DIM-Modifier/releases , but you have to have your own official dim file backed up, have a USB SD card programmer, as well as use the 1.0.B firmware located at https://toy.bandai.co.jp/special/vbbedl/VBBE_10B.vb2

so i have my dims and im downloading from the megalink and i have the .exe file so when it says locate BE firm is it wanting the file you made?

i have my dim backedup to my pc

at that point, you'd need to select the backup you made

So basically am I creating a new evolution tree with English names and words then just exporting that file to my BE dim

correct, just used the modifier program to change what you want changed, save it, then send that file back to your BE dim

Came here because I’ve been struggling with the modifier. Was stuck on the Be Firmware button despite downloading the Bandai firmware for 2.0 version, and now can’t have the window anymore for the exe. What could I be missing? Have scrounged around with defender if it’s blocking but think I’m missing something still?

ok, you need to download the 1.0B firmware (link should be here #1108440973672972438 message )

And I should clarify, download the 1.0B to your pc, NOT your BE its self lol

ok i need a little help, after i get to the part where i select dim file what do i do from there?

in the vid i see you circle the curimon with your mouse but im not sure what to after i get to this step

and als owhat is the difference between this and the english patch thats pinned? Does it look different?

if you see the japanese name near it, click on that. it will open a file select menu, and you select the image file of the english name 🙂

And those image files are available via the mega link at the top of the thread

As far as selecting the dim file, you'd need to have your dim backed up to your pc

You then make the changes you need, save it, and back up the edited save to your dim

UPDATE Updated the mega files to include the Loogamon BEM ||jogress evolution name||

Did you guys found out a bug about Digimon on 17th slot not having evo time and you just can't save the Loogamon file with Dim Modifier?

Go to rustyranomon evolution and delete the jogress evolution

Ah. Okay nevermind. I think I worked it out. For some reason it didn't download as an .exe file and I just had to change that to get it to work. I don't have time to work more with it right now but if something else comes up I'll let you know. 😅

k i finally have some time to actually work with it now but for some reason now the modifier keeps closing right after i open it???

when you first launch it, did you select the 1.0B BE firmware file?

i couldnt select anything. it stayed open for like 3 seconds and then just closed.

ok, delete the dim tool, re-download it, and make sure both it AND the 1.0B firmware (both are in the link near the top) are in the same folder. When you first start the new install of the dim tool, MAKE SURE you select the 1.0B firmware file before selecting anything. try that, and see if that works 🙂

no, this will only change the actual data on the BEM, but if you raised another off the BEM, it would show the english name then

@autumn hill I had that same issue, it wouldn't open for me to select the firmware or dim. What I did was delete the folder called "warp" located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local

after that I also uninstalled all versions of Java Runtime Environment

seems that fixed and I was able to run the Dim Modifier afterwards, hope this helps

@placid hill what font are you using? I'd like to help in your project by translating the older dims. Maybe creating ips patches out of the images you have so that it is easier to apply that going image per image for other users.

It's actually from a program. I'm not doing any difficult work, just trying to put things in one place to make it easier for people to find, instead of scouring the internet for bits at a time lol

If there are specific DIMS you're wanting, just let me know, and I can do those

Oh ok, could you maybe do the Tamers dims? (Terriermon EX2, Guilmon EX2, Renamon EX2) and also the one from frontiers (Agnimon, Fairimon, Chackmon, Wolfmon, Blitzmon and Louwemon)? I know it is a lot that's why I was asking about the font since I have figured out how to do the sprite change and all that but haven't found a font that looks as good as yours and that match the digimon style

Which program are you using to make a backup of your dim? Also are you using just a memory card reader, or a memory card programmer?

I fully get that. If you change your mind in the future, there are a few options, including making your own. I haven't dont that myself, but was told its fairly easy and cheap.

@modest phoenix those are all done, and are on the mega link! Since there is a LOT of difference on some of these between the japanese/english naming, I included both the orignal names (translated of course) AND the english dub names, so that theres a choice on which version to use!

Honestly this is awesome and what I've been looking for. I'm cheering you on waiting for all the DiMs to be completed. If I can request though, would your version of Impulse City be any different from the official English release? If not, I'm gonna say Ancient Warriors or Primeval Warriors need some love if no one else has. The latter would be neat as I think there had been a restock of it recently?

Yes and no. You can changes few of the images, including the name images but not much else, AFAIK

One thing I would also request is that you provide the "official" translations for some of the Digimon as well as the stage names. Hackmon/Huckmon, etc. I've fixed what I needed for now, but it would be something to keep in mind for the future.

Appreciate the work that you've done! I've just got three questions, if I patch my Gammamon BEM to english, does it apply retroactively to my existing digimons from that BEM? If it does apply retroactively does it interfere with app transfer? Also I'm a bit confused, in order to patch the english names I need to use 1.0B firmware but my VBBE is on 2.0A modified, is this an issue?

Actually, the plural of Digimon is Digimoan.

@grizzled nest AFAIK, it only patches them from that point forward, and it really only changes how the BE displays things, not the app. for the firmware part, that is the firmware you need to use on your PC, for the program to work correctly, keep the 2.0A modified on your BE, its better than the stock firmware 🙂 Hope that answers your questions!

Hi everyone. I wasn't sure if this should be it's own thread or not, but since it's heavily tied to BEM/DIM English Translation, I wanted to share a recent project that I just finished. It's a fork of Analogman151's DIMNameGen. The old font has been replaced with an original font I made called "DigiScript." DigiScript is a reconstructed font based off of the official English stage names on the VB. Input is case-sensitive now, so you can do capitalization, uppercase, or lowercase letters. I downloaded and installed of python3
I install the Pillow dependency with pip install Pillow.
I am using DIMNameGen.py and typing in a name and nothing is happening.
I am lost.

Sorry for the late response. For some reason discord's notifications turned off. After typing a name into the command prompt window or Terminal window (running DIMnamegen.py), it should create a folder called "output" in your user folder with the stored name in it. Your Terminal window (or command prompt if on Windows) should look something like this:
