ooohoh shit this is so cool
Ohh that's great. Can't wait to see this go forward
thanks! gotta fix a few internal measurements, then make it a bit more interesting than just a big square. really happy with how the first print came out tho!
Are you planning to develop your own digi-minis to go with it ?
nice
i abslutely love pocket toys like this so im looking foward to future updates 😳
yes! i want to have it be totally interchangeable. end goal to have whatever mini you want + whatever location in the lid. thinking a magnet hot-swap pop them in and pop them out sort of thing
Awesome!
ME TOO i love my pocket neopet and thinking why can’t i just do this for digimon and then spent all weekend working on it
I keep almost throwing these things into my cart whenever I make orders on FJ
I love the Mighty Max vibe.
SANE
everytikmw i see rthem im so tempted
I've resisted this far
yeah same here
Why are they so intriguing? They look so dull!
back wen i was hntinh for minis id see those a lot
and man. i came sooo close to buyig so many times
What ARE those???
ohhh okay. Cause I remember seeing them on Amazon, and i wasn't sure what I was looking at.
Thanks @fringe blade !
OMG DIGI HOME ADJFLAJKDJKLFAJLKDFJLK
same
This looks great. Could be interesting to incorporate an acom into it if it fits
as a lover of digimon, mini figures, and neopets, I live in this thread now
Same same. So much resist everytime lolol
i had no idea those existed and now i’m shopping why have you done this
found some mighty max sets while thrifting the other day, was pretty sweet find and i got them immediately
This is amazing!!! I love like everything that this has going on
Small toys to fidget with and stuff are my jam
This is cool af will you be selling them made? Or selling the file for ppl to print?
If @sweet shell isn't selling sounds like time for theft
||I am joking||
i’ll just supply the file for anyone who wants to print their own. if someone doesn’t have a printer and would like one i’d ship it for a reasonable price.
it’s too niche of a product to try and monetize anyway. it’s something i wanted to make and if someone else is into it that’s just super cool icing on the cake
changed some shaping and reworked the hinges. still have to iron out how the inside of the lid will look, but printing this today to make sure all my internal measurements are good!
Are you plotting these specifically for resin printers or do you think an FDM would be able to handle it?
FDM, would like to try resin but I just got a little entry level FDM to mess with 3D printing
(mostly to print repro beyblade parts and try to bring this thing to life)
currently printing the iterations at low resolution settings until it's all nailed down
biggest problem is it takes about 9 hours to print the whole thing so I can't really test my changes very often hah

Oh this is really cute. Are you gonna make the figures too?
I love it, but it does slightly remind me of a coffin! Would be great for nightmare soldiers theme home
plan to, but after the case itself is 100% done
Ikarus, do you have the dimensions of existing H-T Digimon mini figures?
Don't know if you're taking those into account to be able to put in these, aside from whatever figures you may make.
I feel like you may want a handle or something in case the weight is too much for the normal key chain
And how does it latch close?
that’s a good idea, i can look into those being an option!
definitely a concern. the chain-hole is mostly just to keep it out of the way and i haven’t tested using the chain while inside the case. i plan to, but haven’t yet. it will be magnet closure!
The biggest issue with existing mini figures is there is a wide variety of sizes, but they are all pretty close to the same area.... I'll see if I can get a variety of figures and take some measurements when I get time for you.
if you have a resource for them that’s awesome, would be very appreciated. don’t put yourself through a ton of effort tho ☺️
Just grabbed some randomly sized figures, along with one of the longest/tallest/smallest.
Kimeramon is definitely one of the widest mini figures at 68mm.
Machinedramon nearly sits 49mm in height and nearly 57mm from claws to tail.
The average size of most figures sits around 45mm length, 36mm width, and 37mm height - like Diaboromon.
Generally the figures match the relative size of the Digimon in canon, but not always.
Kuramon is one of the smallest figures out there, and it sits at 14.50mm x 17.41mm x 15.33mm
oooooh yeah those would be way too big i think. the full width of the case is only 90mm with 60mm of that being the device itself. will have to double check but the figure section is at most 30mm wide by 45mm tall
thank you, gives me something to reference off and maybe work with
👁️ my friend has a printer 👁️
also I'm going to make sure @normal mirage is aware of this project since she's also a mini lover
also @sweet shell (sorry for the ping) if you do release a public stl of this could I make a video on it because my GOSH do I love this entire everything
it ticks my boxes because
- neopets brainrot is forever
- digimon minis are one of my loves in this world
- vpets are cool
We making digimon minis?
low key wanted to get a resin printer for that but don't have the space
as my other-side-of-the-world-twin you have permission to ping me any time. Once I make sure this current print is sized correctly I'll post the stl! do with it what you will

cant wait to ask my sis if she knows anyone with a 3d printer
i will do anyting to obtain this.
Iirc Officeworks and similar places let you use their 3d printers for a fee worse case scenario
You have places that let you use 3rd Printers?
ye
You live in the states. Some libraries have them for public use too.
Not in any library I know about. I need to educate myself on this.
Once again Libraries prove to be wonderful places
libraries are pretty rad. Going to a free comic book day event at one of them this coming saturday!
AAA I adore this!!! Do you think I could yoink that file? I wanna make a bunch of little environments and stuff!!
yes when i get home from the movies tonight ! sorry i haven’t updated or posted for a bit i have been doing test prints and have a couple versions. trying to nail down the best way to do a module environment but not a ton of space to work with.
i’ll post more later tonight 😁
ty!!
Here are the STL files for the first set of designs for anyone who wants to test printing themselves!
The first file has the base design in two versions: one with magnet closure and one with "peg" closure (that I have not tested). There is no environment in there, but to concept is to model an environment that fits in the lid and uses magnets for the figure placement.
The second file is a test of a modular environment system where you can mix-and-match the lid environment using the insert instead of modelling it directly in the lid. I haven't tried this out yet and am just including it for anyone to tinker with and improve upon!
Some notes: the hinge system is a simple snap-in system so the lid while open isn't 100% stable and wiggles around a bit. It stays together no problem and havent had an issue with it coming apart yet. And when it's closed with magnets there's no wiggle either, just something to be aware of. The magnets I used are 6mm x 6mm x 3mm in size, and found on amazon for about $10. They should just fit right into the holes but you may have to do a bit of trimming/shaving around the inside since it's pretty snug, and I would recommend gluing them in.
if you try it out please show off some pictures, let me know how it goes!
And feel free to post any changes/improvements you make in here as well. I'm really new to modelling and 3D printing so I'm sure there's a ton of things that can be fixed and made better!
More than happy with this becoming a fully collaborative community project where everyone is working together towards the best design possible.
I have no artistic talent so I cannot help 😔 but I will definitely be part of the cheer squad for this project 😁
Are there any updated photos of your prototype?
no 😭 i took it to work to show my coworker who 3D prints, who was looking at it for improvements from his experience, and forgot to get it back before leaving for the day.
i’m doing another “high res” print tomorrow and will post those once it’s done!
I will watch this channel lighting up like a hawk (like I've been doing already LOL)
AAA OMG I'm printing this out asap!! I'm also gonna hop in tinkercad and design some environments!!!
Please show photos like my life depends on it
I'll also try kicking the shell off soon, but it might be a hassle since my printer never cooperates and I don't leave it on overnight
hope they turn out well for you guys, incredibly excited to see them!
omg a public liarby near me offers 3d printing for $5 per file...... i might try there during holidasy
All my local libraries don't have 3d printing available at the moment... Sad
Printed out the peg one and it works beautifully
that is super cool to see! if you print a figure for it, the peg size is the same as the magnet size: 6mm x 6mm and 3mm deep.
ok! I'm printing out the environment I made rn!
this is an amazing idea
I know right. I live here now
Any recommended settings for a sub 20hr print yet?
Mine only took about 6 hrs, but I wasn't using a raft because I was using petg
@feral tundra has leveled up! (2 ➜ 3)
oooh this is cute. might have to print it as a gift
excited to see where it goes
might hsve to beg some of yall for pen z measurements
how heavy is it on the key chain?
low infill prints tend to not weigh all that much
It isn't that heavy! I don't know the exact weight, but the case didn't seem to be putting any meaningful stress on it
Environment 1: sewer
Also here's me holding all of it by the chain
Btw the environments are good with pressure fit and they come out if you use something thin like a spatula or knife. If you wanna use magnets to hold it instead you might want to make them a smidge smaller so they come out easier
Oh it's a lot smaller than I thought from this angle
Looking cool
What's the little white thing
It's a little clip I made. I wanted the figures to just be held there by it so I could make the figures look however I wanted without worrying about magnets or pegs
ty:)
Lol yeah they rattle around quite a bit without it tho
nice work @feral tundra!! that looks really cool and smart idea with the clip so you can mix and match the figures that way.
my settings in Cura have been 20% infill and .2mm resolution (can’t remember what it’s actually called) for the drafts i’ve been making as a test, and they come out at about 4-5 hours per half. increasing that resolution makes the print time shoot way up so maybe that’s it
Ty!
Are you going to make a figure numemon or Sukamon for the sewer area?
Looks so good my gosh
Definitely!
Ty!!
omgggg
its real
I had a faerieland Neopets handheld as a kid, this is epic
looks so good! for the insert, are you using the piece from the second STL file I posted, or did you make your own for it?
I'm using the one you posted! It's just snaps in and out of place for me, no magnets required
Also ty!
semi-related: here's a case concept I'm working on now, first test print should be done in about 6 hours. It's just a simple box case, but I left room to add some felt padding inside. will post pics of this once done, too!
Oo nice!
nice!
Oh my goodness 😍 y'all are a delight
for the home? for for the device?
just a basic brick carrying case! i like the headphone case i use but thought something that was free and printable would be cool
ohhhh nice
oh my god "digiarmor" is the best name you couldve given it
that looks so nice
simple alternative to earbud cases 🙂 glad you like it!
Ohh it's a little storage case
I'm too cheap to buy earbud cases so I might actually print out a bajillion of these
it’s sized to fit a piece of felt around the inside to keep it snug and not scraping against the plastic!
Hey would you guys want any of my files or do you not care? (no worries if you don't just curious ^^*)
For the numemon?
Nah I didn't make him, I meant the environments n stuff
Lol yeah I modeled them in tinkercad
Then post so more people can make them!
Needs a little cleanup but I got mine all printed out yesterday.
I need to stand down the nubs though because my tolerances are s***
Anyone out there want to make a gently swooping desert dune for an environment?
Looking sweet!!
Sorry it took me a hot second to get around to it, but all of my current models are public on tinkercad!
God this makes me wanna get into 3d modelling
A wg/jt themed place hmm 👁️👁️👁️
getting caught up from being on vacation + being sick 😦
@feral tundra feel free to post anything you make for it here! loved seeing your first designs
@grizzled lava that looks really good! did the closing get better after sanding at all? It is all pretty narrow margins for the fits, wanted to keep it from being too loose and wobbly.
aw man hope you get better soon! Coincidentally I'm also sick 😅
thank you 🙂 like the second I got home from vacation I got a sinus infection, finally getting ahead of it now.
sorry to annoy, but <@&761582828709871638> can we pin this please? Great contributions!
I havnt gotten around to sanding yet. But will post here when I get around to it
can't wait to see it!!
I hope you feel better!
Oof I get those. Take care 😘
@sweet shell what settings did you print with?
for the digiarmor case? that was at 0.2mm resolution, 50% infill. i printed vertically so it had really minimal supports
also when i printed the tab was a tight fit the first couple times but one you get it opened and closed a few times it goes in and holds together nicely
Cool thanks I’m going to print one out right now
Gave +1 Digi-rep to @sweet shell
Printed out my digiarmor! Edited it slightly to remove the crest of hope and the original door kept getting stuck so I ended up printing it smaller with hot glue to help it stay shut
yooo that looks good also 👁️ 👄 👁️ purple
Ty! I love my purple filament sm 🙂
