So I made sure to buy a fresh SDHC card, just to eliminate any possible issues of other files somehow affecting the update. I got a SanDisk Ultra microSDHC 32 GB microSD. It was the cheapest and smallest I could find. It's formatted in FAT32. I tried both directly downloading the update file to the microSD and moving it from my computer to the microSD. I formatted the microSD and put the update back in. Every time I have put the card into the BE in for an update, it gives me an E02 failure.

I've tried it on two different BEs as well, same problem. Is the issue really the microSD card? I just can't narrow down what the issue is here.

ended up just taking an older sd card that came with my 3ds and using that

Yeah I just found a 4 GB microSD I had that I think I used for my DSi, that seems to have worked. Bandai gonna Bandai I suppose, good thing I keep old things.

It's the SanDisk brand sd card that been a hit and miss deal. Mostly affected the 32Gb that everyone been buying.

From what I've seen around, using a card that's smaller than 32 gigs seem to work more often.
