I like penzs so id say yeah, but I'd also recommend getting or making an acom (mine cost me $25aud for all the parts) so you can unlock all the connection locked digimon
Also depends on which one, the nature spirits and deep savers usually are the cheapest but it cost me around that in aud when it they released as well
If you're comfortable you could also use AliExpress, they're a lot cheaper on there esp for aud
Gotta check buyer reviews and seller ratings before buying tho

The PendZs are nice devices, not the best tbh, but still great. If you don't have a pendulum type device and you like the themes of them, you'll definitely enjoy them. Indicating how many shakes are needed, random encounters, close ups, levels, and new Mons not on other devices are all good plus points. The bad point is, you really need access to other devices to get the full access to all the Digimon, which means there is no in device unlocks like all other modern devices.

#how_to_buy_vpets has some other places to check prices. at this point they are all after market so the prices can fluctuate higher than the original price. overall, it's up to you how much you are willing to pay for them, but you can usually find a deep savers for about 40-60 USD (or you can find them as a set for less money than individually)
