I’ve had this laptop since late 2022, and I’ve been having this issue constantly.
My battery will drain while plugged in to the wall gaming, in any spot.
I’ve been using the included 330w adapter, and contacted support about this very issue for YEARS. And it still goes unsolved.
I could be playing a game or streaming, and then the battery dies.
This thing has been repaired by official technicians from Lenovo, sent into Lenovo for repair, and has had over four motherboard replacements, two AC adapter replacements, 2 cooling system replacement, and complete resets of windows every time.
I’m getting temperatures up to 98°C, and draining the battery while plugged in gaming in balanced mode. This would usually occur in performance mode, but now it’s happening in balanced mode.
I’ve tried under voting with specific guides with my specific model, to no avail, and even placing it on a laptop cooling stand on a separate power source so it’s not draining anything from the laptop.
I’m using a thunderbolt 4 dock as well to output to two monitors. One 1080p 60hz, and the other 1440p 144hz.
I paid over $4000 CAD for this laptop STRAIGHT FROM LENOVO, and it’s been nothing but a pain to constantly have to troubleshoot the power drain and temperature issues.
If anyone can help, because support clearly cannot do anything for the past three years, that would be very much appreciated. I’ve even had technicians leave loose screws inside the laptop, causing damage that I had to fix. I’m close to just throwing in the towel and buying another brand.
