#Crashes inside BIOS and Windows

Model: Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H

Describe the issue:
The PC can‘t start up properly and a black screen appears (not even the Legion logo). I can‘t access Novo, the boot manager, or the BIOS. The light on the power button is white and not flashing. The keyboard lights up (no caps lock, num lock or esc key), the fans start spinning and then they stop after about a minute. When eventually getting to the BIOS, Windows Recovery mode or actual Windows, the screen turns black again (the PC doesn‘t turn off) after about a minute.

What have you tried already?:
Power draining didn‘t do anything for me, I have to leave the laptop disconnected for 15 mins to discharge everything, and then the Legion logo shows up and I can boot as usual, but then it crashes

When did it start producing the issue: After a regular Windows 11 update. As far as I know, no BIOS updates were being installed at that time.

Did you install new drivers or software?: If the Windows update had any driver updates, then yes.

Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: No, it only boots to Windows when it decides it feels like it, and I haven’t got it on a video. It goes like this:
Screen turns on -> Legion logo -> Windows loading normally -> Lock screen -> Black screen

i‘ll try, but if it loads without problem and then i get a BSOD, surely it‘s not from the drive, or?

You said you can’t get into bios

#

Remove the boot drive and see if you can

i can get into BIOS, and after a minute it crashes

#

and that‘s only after it has completely discharged

„When eventually getting to the BIOS, Windows Recovery mode or actual Windows, the screen turns black again (the PC doesn‘t turn off) after about a minute.“

So you’re giving conflicting information

#

Anyway, just try it

#

You’ll have to remove other stuff in there anyway for more troubleshooting

still the same unfortunately, removed the drive and still crashes

#

maybe time for customer support i guess

I’d still leave the boot drive out and keep testing in bios

tried that too, still the same. really hoped it was a software issue but oh well
