Hi, details below! Thanks!

Model: Y540-15IRH

Issue: Laptop isn't charging and I'm getting the low AC adapter wattage error message on start up (see photo). However the orange charging status LED is on. I don't have the original charger because that stopped functioning a few years ago but I do have an official Lenovo replacement which is the same wattage and has been working perfectly since.

What I've tried: I purchased another Lenovo 230W. I've also replaced the battery with a compatible one. I checked vantage and there's no software updates. I've tried both soft and hard EC reset. Still no change.

I used a mains power meter and I can see that the charger is drawing 0W from the wall when powered off, and when I power the laptop on it jumps to ~60W, but the battery level never increases.

I've even stuck a multimeter on the charging port and the correct voltage is coming in. Similarly the CMOS battery is over 3V.

When: Last week. I was using the laptop on battery without issue and plugged it in to charge overnight. Next day I noticed to orange light was still on.

New Drivers/SW: No new software installed as far as I remember. Possibly graphics drivers a few days before but that's it.

I'm at a loss with this one. I assume there must be some damage to the battery management circuitry but I can't see any obvious signs of damage.

Any help greatly appreciated! Or even if someone has seen this before and can just confirm it's the end would be helpful.

Is your charger Lenovo original?

I would try with an original Lenovo charger.

I don't have the charger from the box as it stopped working a while ago. The one I have been using is an official Lenovo one I bought last year, of the same wattage, though its the slim version. And as I said, it's been working fine for the last year.
