Hey kind people,

I recently upgraded my RAM to Kingston 6400MHz 32GB in my 16IRX16 (Legion 7 Pro 4070), but I discovered that it's only running at 4800MHz. Knowing that 5600MHz is natively supported (i want 5600mhz and i hope for 6400mhz), I went into the BIOS to enable XMP, only to find the most barren BIOS I've ever encountered (I come from a PC building household and have quite some experience with this type of stuff).

After some searching around, I stumbled upon the smokelessruntimEFIpatcher. However, when I use it, I don't get the desired result, and sometimes it doesn't boot, forcing me to reset CMOS (I'm confident in opening the laptop).

Is there anyone who knows how to access the advanced BIOS settings?

Thanks to the kind people here. (chatgpt made my bad english readable for you guys)

Most laptop bios is limited in option because they don't want people to screws around, + option for overclocking in general on laptop are not well implemented or implemented at all

#

If you still want to try a higher ram speed for your machine, head over to #tweakers

#

Also of note you're running 64gb, so expect not so high ram speed.

Oh I misread

#

32gb at 5600 is doable

#

But if you want that speed.... You should go with Jedec 5600 kit

#

Would be faster.
