Model:lenovo legion 7th gen?

Issue: computer has been stuck in a boot loop since november 4th,conputer will turn on,show its running a automatic repair, all my perephirals will turn off, then the computer will turn off,and this will
repeat indefinitely

When did the issue start: has happened in the past, maybe about 2 months ago,and happend a few days ago,but stopped after about 20 minutes

What have I tried:checking if my pcu(i think thats what the power supply us called) is loose,it is not,Ive tried cleaning it up and leaving it for a few hours unplugged, nothing worked, the boot loop cycle has actually gotten shorter,so its turning off and on faster now
Have i installed new drivers or software:I homebrew 3ds's and i installed a program called pinbox, but i dont believe that is what caused this,as it has happened in the past

Can i provide a video:Yes,i have a video of it doing the boot loop,me trying to enter bios, and me trying to enter safe mode if it helps

Reinstall windows from a USB stick pretty much

#

Unless you have a backup

#

But barely anyone learns to back up here

languid summit
#

How do you do that? Do i need to buy windows somewhere or install it on any old usb stick online

#

@woeful yacht

If your machine came with windows from Lenovo, your key is bound to the motherboard.

@proper pelican once ive created the usb drive with windows on it,do i just insert it into my computer and itll start reinstalling windows?

#

Im in the process of making it now on a crappy laptop so its takin a sec

#

It is downloading right now,do i use the key when inserted to the computer i wish to install windows 11 on,or did i need to do it in the .exe file from microsoft

#

Heres what im seein on my laptop

languid summit
#

No i saw that, but when do i need the ley in the process

#

Ive never done this before im sorry, and the drive is plugged in,but still my computer only stays on for a few seconds, then shuts off, cant get into bios or login or anything

proper pelican
#

You don’t

languid summit
#

Ohy bad

proper pelican
#

It will activate on its own

languid summit
#

Once i turn on the computer?

proper pelican
#

You go through the instillation process. Don’t worry about windows activation. It will take care of itself.

languid summit
#

Ok,so turn on my computer,instilation will start,right?

proper pelican
#

No man. I’ve already said this. You have to boot into bios and then choose to boot from the usb inside the bios

proper pelican

#

Ive said,it turns off before i can even boot into bios

#

It's in the video, its on for a few seconds, even if i boot into my bios or not

proper pelican
#

Right when you press the power button you immediately start spamming the f2 to go into bios

languid summit
#

Ok,ill record me doin it

proper pelican
#

Do you know what key to use to boot into bios? Tower may be different than laptop.

languid summit
#

This uses f2

proper pelican
#

Well in your video you’re taking way to long to start pressing f2

languid summit
proper pelican
#

Like I mentioned, immediately after pressing the power button

languid summit
#

Ok,ill do it immediately

#

Gimme one sec

#

But in rhat video i just took,im doin it immediately

proper pelican
#

Yes that came in while I was typing

#

You’re 100% sure it’s f2?

languid summit
#

100% but i could try like,f8?

proper pelican
#

Sure

#

If you can’t get into bios you need to talk with Lenovo.

languid summit
#

Allright, ill figure somethin out, worst case scenerio im goin to best buy to see what they can do

#

Dosent seem like a hardware problem

#

But im no expert with computers

#

Thanks for your help

proper pelican
#

Do you know your model number? @languid summit

languid summit
#

@proper pelican new development,its a lenovo model 5 desktop,prebuilt from bestbuy

I can get into my bios, and select my usb drive as the boot option, but!
Even trying to boot from the drive will send the computer on a boot loop again

languid summit
#

It enters a boot loop from the usb media i made, and from my built in boot

proper pelican
#

Contact Lenovo for warranty.

languid summit
#

I think my warranty is expired, ive had this computer for more then 2 years

#

Yeah warranty is expired

proper pelican
#

You can buy more.

languid summit
#

And itll be good if i need to send it in to get repaired?

proper pelican
#

I can’t say for sure. None of us work at lenovo but having warranty would be the first step if you want them to fix it.

languid summit
#

Allright, before i ultimately do that ima see if i can find a local shop that could figure it out

languid summit
#

Holy shit ive done it

#

Reinstalling windows baby!!!!!!!!
