#It it normal to have low CPU usage when gaming?

I was playing Fortnite and red dead redemption on high settings and I was looking at task manager and it said that it was just using 3% of the CPU and 96% of GPU and I was wondering if that was normal (I have a Lenovo legion 5 pro Gen 8).

Not sure on fortnite since I've never tested on other games but on rdr2 specifically I'm hovering around 10-17ish percentage. And since ben already pointed out 22h2 has monitoring bug, you are fine.

#

96% is indeed the normal usage for gpu in rdr2

Expect around 20-50% cpu usage

Really 20-50?

i get 60-70 on mine lol

Hol up let me check

#

Ah you got an older model.

either way ur gpu bound in rdr2

Yea the newer gen intel is just not using a lot of it's power when gaming.

#

So it's fine and you're gpu bound anyways which is great.

So I was changing some settings on the Lenovo app were you can see the cpu and gpu performance and I restarted the device as well and now is saying I’m using 50% the speed of the cpu is going about 4.00 and I don’t know if it went that high before because in the left it says base speed is 2.10Ghz. Did I boost the cpu?

False readings

And my Xbox game bar status says this

I don’t know what to believe anymore 😂

So is the Xbox game bar one right? Cause before, the task manager gave the same results saying it was using 2% and stuff but ever since restart is now showing me 50%

#

Or are they both giving false results?

Use msi afterburner

I’m on the hardware monitor screen, which one should I be looking at? For gpu and cpu

#

This the right one CPU1?

Yeh no need for CPU1 temp, just monitor CPU temp and usage

#

see? cpu usage is higher

#

normal

Woke up to this

It depends on what settings but Fortnite should be more cpu bound
