My specs are:
3070ti
i7 12800hx
32gb ram
Still under warranty

I bought my Legion 7i just before new year so it’s only been 4 months and it’s been great until last three days. Out of nowhere I started to experience frame drops while watching youtube videos. Then it got to a point where all browsers tabs started working in slow mo. I was definitely getting very low frame rates. I also realised that when youtube tab was opened with a video playing, the laptop started turning it’s fans quite fast. This was very visible. But when I changed to a text rich tab, the fans slowed down in 10s or so. This sounds ridiculous but it is very true. I wasn’t even getting this much fans noise while using my 960M laptop running Solidworks.

Then I tried laptop’s performance in more challenging tasks. While running LOL and CSGO I started getting near 100 lower frame rates than what I was normally getting. I tried doing school work in MATLAB/Simulink and Solidworks, but similar problems such as low frame rates and lack of smoothnesses were apparent.

To solve this, I clean updated GPU and CPU drivers which did not work. I reinstalled windows but this did not work either. I looked through forums to see whether people experienced similar problems but there was no permanent solution from anybody even though some people experienced exact same problems.

I’m thinking that this could a problem of laptop not being able to take enough wattage but it’s just me.

I was wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems in their Legions?
More importantly is there any permanent solution that does not involve sending the laptop to service? I just don’t wanna lose time.

I tried EC resetting but did not work. It actually should've worked considering what I diagnosed. I tried testing the power consumption of GPU and CPU while running some games and something is off. GPU at most takes 40W and CPU at most takes 20W even though the laptop is in performance mode. Feels like the wattage is capped at 60 or something. I bet it is because I was using my 60W yoga charger sometimes and now it recognizes the original 300W charger as a 60W one. Any solution to this problem?

Additionally, the temp levels are always low somehow even while running games.
